Do I have to insure my goods?

Yes, you need insurance to book a unit at all Pocket Storage locations. This is an industry standard and applies to all self storage facilities in the UK.

How can I book insurance through Pocket Storage?

When booking your storage unit, we allow customers to book insurance at the same time through our enhanced liability protection under StoreProtect .

You have the option to choose a light, medium or heavy level of cover, according to the value of the goods you intend to store with us.

A light cover has a maximum value of £5,000.

A medium cover has a maximum value of £10,000.

A heavy cover has a maximum value of £15,000.

How much does StoreProtect cost?

Our current pricing for StoreProtect is:

  • Extra light - £2,500 cover.
    This costs £14.95 per month, or £3.45 for a one-off weekly booking.

  • Light - £5,000 cover.
    This costs £29.90 per month, or £6.90 for a one-off weekly booking.

  • Medium - £10,000 cover.
    This costs £50.84 per month, or £11.73 for a one-off weekly booking.

  • Heavy - £15,000 cover.
    This costs £67.28 per month, or £15.53 for a one-off weekly booking.

What if I don't want to take out a policy with Pocket Storage?

If you do not want to take out an insurance policy through Pocket Storage, you can do so through a third party. In order to do this you will need to email us at [email protected] so that we can review the policy document and get you set up with a unit rental.

What if I need a higher value of cover?

We are happy to accommodate a higher level of cover - please email us at [email protected] and we will work to create the correct level of cover for you.
